Emily and Her Journey with Plant-Based Nutrition

Why Emily Became a Dietitian

“As a former professional ballet dancer, I witnessed firsthand the immense pressure performers and athletes often face surrounding body image, performance, and nutrition. Throughout my years in the dance world, I saw how many individuals were expected to perform at elite levels while navigating unrealistic expectations around food and appearance.

These experiences inspired me to pursue nutrition and dedicate my career to helping people build a healthier, more supportive relationship with food and their bodies. I wanted to create a space where nutrition feels compassionate, realistic, and individualized rather than restrictive or overwhelming.

Today, I continue to combine my background in performance with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals with diverse nutrition goals, helping clients improve their health while still enjoying food and life.”

Why Emily Chose a Plant-Based Lifestyle

“Over the years, my husband and I gradually transitioned toward a predominantly plant-based lifestyle and experienced firsthand how nourishing plant-focused eating patterns could support energy, longevity, recovery, and overall well-being.

My approach to plant-based eating is highly flexible and non-judgmental. I strongly believe nutrition should support both health and quality of life, and I understand that perfection is neither realistic nor necessary for most people.

At home, our meals are primarily vegan, while outside the home I value flexibility, food freedom, and balance. My goal is always to help clients find sustainable habits that feel realistic and supportive for their unique lifestyle.”

Emily’s Publications & Community Work

“Throughout her career, Emily has written more than 75 nutrition and wellness articles focused on performance nutrition, balanced eating, healthy aging, digestive health, and plant-based living.
