Jana and Her Journey with Plant-Based Nutrition

What motivated you to become a dietitian?

Growing up in a culture where food held a central position, I developed a strong bond with it. In my upbringing, food went beyond mere sustenance; it served as a cultural cornerstone that brought people together. This inherent love for food naturally sparked my interest in nutrition and its significant influence on our lives. This curiosity ultimately inspired me to pursue a career as a dietitian.

When did you become plant-based?

I have adhered to a plant-based diet for over 15 years.

Why are you plant-based?

I initially adopted a plant-based diet due to ethical concerns related to the treatment of animals in the meat industry. Over time, my motivations have expanded to include environmental considerations and the health advantages associated with plant-based diets.
