Linzy and her Journey with Plant-Based Nutrition

What motivated you to become a dietitian?

My passion for nutrition began in my childhood. As a young girl, I watched my grandmother adapt to life with diabetes, particularly through significant dietary changes. This experience opened my eyes to the powerful influence of diet on health. Today, at 85, my grandmother continues to thrive, which inspires me deeply.

 

This inspiration is renewed daily as I assist others in reaching their health goals. I enjoy building relationships, collaborating to uncover individual motivations, and celebrating the successes of those I work with.

Why are you plant-based?

Growing up, our family didn't consume much meat, which piqued my curiosity about vegetarianism during my senior year of high school. My education on sustainability and a deep compassion for all living beings led me to adopt veganism less than two years later.

 

Now, having been vegan for nearly 16 years, I've felt the physical, emotional, and social advantages firsthand. While I never push dietary changes on anyone, I'm always ready to support those who want to explore veganism, vegetarianism, or simply wish to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diets.
