As seen on Tik Tok, cucumber hummus boats are an easy, delicious, and refreshing snack. Ideal for a picnic or as a lunch alongside a filling vegan salad, vegan cucumber hummus boats take just minutes to make!

The star of healthy hummus cucumber boats is the hummus. Hummus is packed with healthy plant-based protein, fibre, and micronutrients.

Is hummus vegan?

99% of the time – yes! The basic ingredients in typical vegan hummus are chickpeas, olive oil, and tahini (sesame seed paste) with some amounts of lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and sea salt.

Different commercial flavours will contain other ingredients like parmesan cheese, but a quick scan of the nutrition facts will tell you that!

Is sabra hummus vegan?

Sabra classic hummus is vegan, along with other classic flavours by popular brands like FontaineSanté and Summer Fresh.

How long does hummus last? And does hummus go bad?

Most hummus brands will indicate that their product is best eaten within 7 days of opening. Homemade hummus is best kept for 3-4 days, as a homemade vegan hummus recipe will not have preservatives.

Hummus should be stored in the fridge.

Carbs in hummus

A tablespoon of hummus usually has 2-3 grams of carbohydrate and 1 gram of fibre, leaving with you with 1-2 grams of net carbs.

Vegan hummus is an appropriate snack for those who follow a low-carb of vegan keto diet.
